VAIL — Vail Bluegrass has announced the lineup for its inaugural series, which will be held on Wednesdays, July 2, July 16, Aug. 13 and Aug. 27. Shows begin at 6 p.m. at the Arrabelle at Vail Square. The Vail Summer Bluegrass Series is a free event with the option to purchase tickets for preferred seating.
Drew Emmitt, of Leftover Salmon, kicks things off July 2 with the Drew Emmitt Band. Grammy award-winner Peter Rowan brings his bluegrass band to Vail July 16. Following a four-week break, Vail Bluegrass continues Aug. 13 featuring Grammy nominee, Sarah Jarosz. The Travelin’ McCourys, featuring all current members of the Del McCoury Band (excluding Del), close out the series joined by Bill Nershi, of String Cheese Incident. Supporting artists will be announced in the coming weeks.

The Vail Summer Bluegrass Series is supporting Colorado’s Sera Schools Music Program. Sera Schools, a community-based music school in Colorado (with a location in the Vail Valley), offers education programs and music lessons for children and adults in piano, guitar, violin and voice. The Sera Schools Music Program has set up a scholarship fund in the name of Vail Bluegrass.
