The Luminary Nightingale Awards acknowledge the amazing nurses in our region whose hard work continues to improve health through advocacy, innovation and leadership. This year, two VVMC nurses were nominated. Mary Hinz, simulation educator, was nominated for the Innovation Award because she has created a learning environment for staff training using simulation. Amy Lavigne, care coordinator for the Women and Children’s Center, was nominated for the Advocacy Award because Amy created better systems and processes to address patient needs. Both Mary and Amy represent the high standards of nursing care that is given to patients at VVMC. Thank you Mary and Amy for your commitment to excellent care.
