Fifth grade students from Edwards Elementary School and the Vail Ski & Snowboard Academy had the opportunity to visit the Steadman Philippon Research Institute as part of its new education and public outreach program. Developed in partnership with Eagle County Schools, the Gifted Education Team of Eagle County and Vail Mountain School, the program was established to inspire the next generation of scientists through exposure to science, technology, engineering and mathematics. Steadman Philippon Research Institute has one of the most advanced biomedical engineering labs in the world, and the objective of the program is to offer Eagle County children exposure to world-class scientific research. The biomedical engineering team visited with the fifth grade students, conducted tours of the labs and entertained students questions.
