DENVER, Colorado – Wednesday, the Colorado Department of Transportation will host a telephone town hall meeting at 7 p.m. to allow residents and travelers to learn more about the widening project on eastbound I-70 at Idaho Springs, which includes widening the eastbound bore of the Twin Tunnels.

Major work is scheduled to begin in April once eastbound I-70 is placed on the frontage road to allow crews to begin the widening of the eastbound I-70 Twin Tunnels bore as well as the rest of I-70 between East Idaho Springs and U.S. 6. To complete the work, blasting of the rock in the eastbound tunnel bore is required and will result in periodic-30-minute traffic stops throughout the summer.-
