Vail Daily letter: I meant legislators
Ryan Summerlin December 15, 2012
I just wanted to correct the misinformation submitted by Tim Moffet several days ago in his response to my letter about how the Democrats have driven California’s economy into the ground. Evidently, Moffet doesn’t understand how laws are passed or how government works.
While he refuted the points I made by illustrating the fact that the state has had several Republican governors over the past 20 or 30 years, he completely ignores the fact that the California Legislature and judiciary has been dominated by liberal Democrats for most of that period.
It has been in those two branches of its government, where the policies and laws have been drafted and upheld, that have had such a devastating impact on the California economy and its taxpayers.
And I will concede the fact that Arnold Schwarzenegger did little to help California’s financial woes. He has proven to be a failure as a politician and a husband, and just one more sorry example of a celebrity seeking greater power and status at the public’s expense.
Come to think of it, he would have fit right in with many lying, cheating Democratic politicians, such as John Edwards, Anthony Weiner, Bill Clinton, Ted Kennedy and our current “leader.”
