Vail Daily letter: Just when it’s getting good
Ryan Summerlin April 15, 2013
It’s still snowing in the Vail Valley! More than a 60-inch base at Vail and over 75 inches at Beaver Creek. The mountain has closed and no one seems to care.
What happened to the days before corporate ownership when the season was extended because we still had great conditions?
I am sure the Forest Service would love to see people still enjoying the mountain, and businesses would appreciate the ability to still make money.
After all, I think we are still a ski town.
The elk still aren’t here, we no longer have visa problems because of high unemployment. What could the excuse be?
Maybe Vail Resorts moved to the Front Range and only cares about their corporate profit. It is a shame to think of the mountain closing for no reason other than profits.
This is our community, and we should have input on how it is run.
Vail Resorts needs our support more than we need them!
