Vail Daily obituary: Julie Bergsten, 1968-2017

Julie Bergsten was born June 14, 1968, in Seattle. She passed away Feb. 20.

Julie was the daughter of Paul and Linda Iverson. She was very close with her only sister, Kelly Iverson, who lives in Castle Rock.

Julie grew up in Seattle and was always surrounded by friends and family who loved her. She was a dancer from a young age.

She attended Ringdall Jr. High, and was a 1986 graduated of Newport High School, both in Bellevue, Washington. She graduated in 1990 from the University of Washington.

Studied abroad in London, and had a passion for traveling and music. She was in a band called the Momba’s, for which she played the drums and sang.

In her life, Julie traveled to Egypt, Africa, Greece, France, Italy, Costa Rica, Belize, Nicaragua, Sweden and Maui, Hawaii.

Julie and friend Kiendra Fleck moved to Vail 1994 and opened Covered Bridge Coffee on Bridge Street. The two remain the closest of friends.

Since 2003, Julie was the vice president of finance and operations at Slifer Smith & Frampton Real Estate.

Julie married Jonny Bergsten in 1999 at the top of Eagle’s Nest on Vail Mountain. She leaves three children, Lukas, 13, Ava, 10, and Emma, 10. Family was everything to her.
