Vail Daily obituary: Margaret Newman, 1960-2012

Margaret Zuk Newman, 52, died after a short illness Feb. 23 in Phoenix.

She was a longtime Vail Valley resident. While in Vail, Margaret worked at the Steadman Hawkins Clinic and most recently managed the Sports Medicine Clinic at Stanford University.

She was a gentle soul who lit up a room. Margaret radiated kindness and her presence made the world a better place. She will be deeply missed.



She is survived by her husband, Scott, of Scottsdale, Ariz.; her sister Elizabeth (Zuk) Powell, of Cookeville, Tenn.; her brother David Zuk, of Blaine, Minn.; her parents, Carl and Joan Zuk, of Fridley, Minn.; her grandmother Monica Simon, of New Prague, Minn.; and seven nieces and nephews, whom she loved very much. A celebration of Margaret’s life will be held on Sept. 24 in Aspen.

A memorial gift fund has been set up to benefit the Wessex Cancer Trust. Contributions may be made to “Memorial Gift Fund to Honor Margaret Zuk Newman” and mailed to Silicon Valley Bank, Mail Sort HF151, 3003 Tasman Drive, Santa Clara, CA 95054.
