Vail Daily obituary: Michael D. Clark, 1959-2012

Michael David Clark was born on Oct. 9, 1959, in Deep River, Ontario, and passed away at home in Richmond, Maine, on Nov. 20 2012 after a long battle with melanoma.

When he was two, his family moved from Canada to the Los Angeles area, where he graduated from Pacific Palisades High School in 1977 and attended Cal State University. His love of life, adventure and the outdoors was visible throughout his career. He was first mate and chef on a corporate fishing yacht stationed in Cabo San Lucas hosting company executives and clients. He worked as a ski instructor in Vail and for the Sitzmark Lodge.

He returned to school, got a degree in computer aided design, and ended his career designing yacht interiors at Hodgdon Yachts in Richmond, Maine.



He is survived by his father, Malcolm; brother Bob; and sister Ann; along with a multitude of close and cherished friends.

A memorial celebrating Mike’s life will be held at the Old Goat Main St. Richmond on Saturday at 5 p.m.
