Vail Daily obituary: Terri Deanne Hegland, 1956-2014
Ryan Summerlin June 26, 2014
Terri Deanne Hegland died peacefully at home on June 18. She was born in San Diego, California, in 1956. She lived in Eagle/Gypsum and Glenwood Springs for the last 39 years. When she moved to Glenwood, she married Jon Hegland and together they had a wonderful son, Cody.
She’s very proud of Cody and his wife Kendra.
Terri loved to be outdoors with her dogs, bicycling and snowmobiling. Even more, she loved talking, listening, laughing with her family and all the special friends she made over the years. She was an incredibly strong person with a huge heart. She was always worrying more about other people rather than herself. It seems that she always knew someone who was worse off than her. She always had a great attitude, always had something positive to say. She was always hopeful. Terri always managed to find time in her day to make someone else’s day special. It seems like her caring nature was one of the fuels that kept her going for such a long time. Terri was preceded in death by her father Bill Adams.
Terri is survived by her mother Kay Adams, her sister Kim Ellison (Bill), her niece Whitney Mueller (Tom), their daughter MacKenzie, and Kendra, Cody and Jon Hegland.
The entire family would like to take this opportunity to extend our deepest and most heartfelt appreciation to the medical community and the community here for all the help and care that has been given to Terri over the years. We could not have done it without you. To honor Terri’s life, please take your dog for a walk. Reach out to a friend or family member in need.
