Vail encourages bus use during U.S. Open

VAIL, Colorado – In anticipation of the large crowds that will gather in Vail for the Burton US Open Snowboarding Championships this week, the town of Vail is encouraging spectators to arrive early for the events and to carpool or use public transportation, as parking is expected to fill quickly. The competition, featuring 100 of the world’s best riders, comes to Vail for the first time after relocating from Stratton, Vt. In addition to the slopestyle and halfpipe competitions at Golden Peak, there will be free concerts, demos and other activities throughout townduring the four-day event.U.S. Open spectators are encouraged to take full advantage of the free town of Vail bus and the low-cost ECO system for added convenience. Free outlying parking will be available on a first-come, first-served basis at Donovan Park and along the North Frontage Road in West Vail.Once the town exceeds its parking capacity, free overflow parking will be available until 11 p.m. on the South Frontage Road.
