What goods or services do you provide? Beaver Divers showcases Scubapro, SubGear scuba diving equipment, along with Sealife GoPro cameras and accessories for great underwater shots. Beaver Divers provides scuba diving training for recreational diving and technical diving up to the instructor level. We offer both private and group classes. Most of the training takes place in a heated indoor pool and a 90-degree natural hot spring.
In the summer, Beaver Divers offers high altitude and dry suit training in high mountain lakes.
Beaver Divers sponsors escorted dive trips to exotic, world-class destinations. Beaver Divers offers a full-time dive shop with tank fills and a scuba gear service center. We even fill avalanche cylinders for float bags.
What’s new or exciting at your place? Beaver Divers’ new online store, www.SCUBAPRO4less.com, is shipping Scubapro gear nationwide and to U.S. territories. We are shipping scuba gear from the mountains to Florida, Texas, California, New York and even Guam.
We’re also excited about new dive trips to Tubbataha in the Philippines, Socorro, Mexico and Komodo, Indonesia. Future trips include Cocos Island, Galapagos, Cayman and Bonaire.
What strategy do you use to differentiate your business from your competitors? Beaver Divers offers the best gear at the best prices, online or in our facility in Eagle-Vail. We provide superior service. We want our customers to have complete satisfaction with their purchases and training.
Our goal is to train divers of all ages — from 10 years to 80 — to be competent, safe divers. We will teach anyone with a desire to learn, and we’ll spend as much time as necessary to accomplish this goal.
Beaver Divers provides value that our competitors cannot or do not provide. Why would a diver living near the ocean buy their gear from the highest full-time dive shop in the world? Because they are a discerning consumer!
What is the most humorous thing that has happened since you opened your business? Our manager’s wife, Sheri Wagenlander, lost a card game (we were playing hearts). The bet was the loser had to stand out in front of Beaver Divers, waving our large dive flag while dressed in a full wet suit, mask, fins and snorkel. It was January. Her picture landed on the front page of the Vail Daily!
