Kevin Lawlor, senior vice president and general counsel of Vail Valley Medical Center since February, 2005, has accepted a new position as associate general counsel at Sutter Health, a California health system based in Sacramento, Calif.
“This is a significant role at one of the country’s largest health systems,” said Doris Kirchner, chief executive officer for Vail Valley Medical Center. “We are proud that Kevin can take the many skills honed here and relocate to a larger community that suits his and his family’s long-term plans. He has been a tremendous asset to this organization and we wish him the very best.”
Lawlor moved to Vail from Salt Lake City and, with small children, decided that now was a good time to return to a larger community.
“I will truly miss VVMC and the magnificent opportunities I have had here,” Lawlor said. “While this is a remarkable community hospital that operates at a magnitude of a major health care institution beyond its small size, this is a good time to take the skill set from here and expand further in the health care arena.”
