Vail Valley Voices: Get off your duffs, GOP
Ryan Summerlin February 21, 2013
You want to know what really rattles my cage? Well, I’m going to tell you anyway.
The Democrats have no shame and maybe no morals. The Republicans have no backbone or stick-to-it-ness. That’s it. But let me elaborate …
If you listen to former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, then you might as well be listening to gibberish. She can’t put two sentences together that have any meaning. I declare, if listening to her makes any sense, I’ll eat my hat. You can’t negotiate with the wind even if it comes in a bag.
The Democratic philosophy of negotiation is “what’s mine is mine; what’s yours we negotiate for,” and they have the nerve to call it bipartisanship.
The Republicans try to negotiate with the thought of an even playing field with fair rules but end up giving ground every time, and what’s more, they feel good about it. How dumb can they be?
They give a little more of the store with each decision. In other words, they give in on their principles with each trade, moving ever so much closer to the left’s point of view.
Frankly, I’m sick of it. The moderate Republicans and the RINOs (Republicans In Name Only) are critical of the conservative wing of the party. If this continues, the Republicans can bend over and kiss their behinds goodbye.
The Republican Party would cease to exist without the conservatives.
If the Republicans are together on the same page, they can be a formidable force in our future government. But divided as they currently appear to be, they are a paper tiger with an inaudible meow instead of a powerful roar.
What upsets me the most is that the Democrats are so good at lying about what’s really going on, especially Obama, and the uninformed voter believes that crap. You tell the same lie over and over again and it becomes the perceived truth.
The Republicans are the party that freed the slaves at the screams of the Democrats, who tried to reverse everything Lincoln instituted. So why, then, are the blacks so loyal to the Democratic Party that has kept them down in a dependent plantation mentality since the days of slavery? Why are the Hispanics not aware that the Republicans are the party of life, which is one of the basic foundations of their religion?
Marketing is the answer. Republicans are afraid to get their hands dirty. If you’re going to grapple with the pigs, you must plan on getting some mud on your shoes. OK Republicans, get down and dirty like your opponents. Play by the same rules if you want to keep the House and make gains in the Senate.
Remember, we have a story to tell, not like the BS spread by the emotional left. Why do you think most Hollywood actors support the Democrats? Because they live in a make-believe world most of their lives and they translate it into their politics. The Utopia they long for doesn’t exist.
Socialism, fascism and communism have all failed. It’s the manipulators like George Soros who want to pull the strings on the puppets like Obama, and the fool buys into it. He wants to be king, and I’ll bet Soros told him that he will be.
Well, I warned you that I was going to tell you what is getting to me, and I’ve let out my frustrations. The sad part is that I’m really too old to join in the victory parade. But I guarantee I’ll be in the audience cheering for your victory.
So get off your collective butts and do something. Make a difference, a real difference, and do it now before Obama ruins this country beyond repair.
Be active or get the hell out of the way! There are three kinds of people in the world – those who make things happen, those who watch things happen and those who ask, “What happened?”
Which are you?
