Valley’s First Tee to combine with Denver program

VAIL, Colorado – In an effort to streamline the overall management process of its the First Tee golf program, the Vail Valley Foundation’s Youth Foundation recently made the decision to consolidate The First Tee of Eagle County chapter into its Denver counterpart, with both programs now conducted by Denver Junior Golf.
“The intent of The Youth Foundation has always been to put the needs of Eagle County youth first and foremost when making decisions regarding programs,” said Susie Davis, vice president of education for the Vail Valley Foundation. We believe that The First Tee of Denver opportunity provides a firm plan that allows the Eagle County The First Tee program to continue to thrive and better serve the needs of children throughout our community.”
In addition to providing Eagle County youth with an opportunity to learn the basic skills of golf, The First Tee program also instills crucial life skills such as honesty, responsibility, integrity, judgment, respect, courtesy, confidence, sportsmanship and perseverance.
The First Tee of Denver will assume the responsibility for all revenue, expenses and logistics associated with the delivery of The First Tee programming in Eagle County. The Youth Foundation will transfer all existing contracts, records and relevant information to The First Tee of Denver, in addition to providing support for the summer 2013 transition period The consolidation is expected to be complete by April 1.
