Why a medical helicopter in Vail?

VAIL — The Vail Valley Medical Center and the town of Vail are hosting an information session about the importance of critical-care helicopter services in our community. The session is open to the public and will be held today from 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. in The Grand View on the third floor of the Lionshead Welcome Center.
Guests will hear from helicopter pilot and FAA examiner Cayce Batterson as well as Vail Valley Medical Center trauma surgeon Dr. Reg Franciose, cardiologist Dr. Larry Gaul, emergency physician Dr. Matt Kamper and senior physician Dr. Jack Eck to learn about the realities and statistics of helicopter transports. A light lunch will be available to guests.
