Today's activity: Flatwater stand-up paddleboarding on Nottingham Lake.
Today's weather: Partly cloudy with cooler temps and wind.
Forecast: Tomorrow should be sunny and about 60 degrees, say forecasters.
Conditions: On Nottingham Lake in Avon, a patching project means no paddleboat rentals this year. But stand-up paddleboarding (SUP) is still on, leaving SUPers with the lake to themselves on many days like today. And with the winds we saw this afternoon, the flatwater of the lake still proved to be a challenge to navigate on a SUP, making for an ideal training ground. Check out Alpine Quest on Hwy 6 in Edwards for SUP rentals.

Today's weather: Cold and rainy, hailing in Vail at times, but giving way to some sun as the afternoon progresses.
Forecast: Tomorrow should be nicer, say forecasters.
Conditions: It's been raining and even hailing at times, making things unpleasant for climbers. While some will chalk up their hands and bear the moist surfaces, on days like this many are apt to practice indoors at places like the Vail Athletic Club and the Edwards Rec Center, where you can tune your skills in a controlled environment and don't have to contend with intermittent showers.

Today's activity: Mountain biking.
Today's weather: Cold and cloudy, about 50 degrees with on and off showers all day. It snowed in Vail this morning, with flakes reaching the valley floor.
Forecast: We're looking at similar conditions for tomorrow, say forecasters.
Conditions: It's been raining, but on the Berry Creek trail in Edwards that's not necessarily a bad thing. That trail is dry enough that it will get dusty at times, and the rain definitely helps prevent that from happening. It also cuts down on the number of people out enjoying the trail, so if you have a decent rain jacket and don't mind the occasional shower, it's a great day for mountain biking.

Today's weather: Very sunny, about 70 degrees with hardly a cloud in the sky.
Forecast: Get out and enjoy it while you can; forecasters are saying it will be cloudy tomorrow and are expecting rain on Wednesday.
Conditions: With all the sun we've had over the last few days, the rivers are raging right now. At 10:15 a.m. Gore Creek was running at 678 cfs at the mouth near Minturn, and the Lower Eagle River in Gypsum was running at 2840, nearly triple the numbers we saw at the end of last week.
On the Hill: Beautiful day for golf in Eagle

Today's weather: Very sunny, about 70 degrees without a cloud in the sky. There are some winds to contend with in Eagle Ranch though, with gusts reaching 20 mph.
On the Hill Summer: Great rafting conditions on the Eagle River

Today's activity: Whitewater rafting the Eagle River with Lakota Guides.
Today's weather: Very sunny, about 70 degrees with hardly any wind.
Forecast: The rest of today and tomorrow should be sunny again, say forecasters.
Conditions: The Lower Eagle River is currently running at about 1,050 cubic feet per second, down a few hundred cfs from last week, but making for great rafting conditions. Rapids like "Interstate" and "Mad Cow," between Wolcott and Eagle, are currently running at a Class III level, while in Dowd Chute on the Upper Eagle, the rapids are running at very exciting class IV conditions.

Vail official report: 2 inches new snow in last 24 hours; 1 inch overnight
Vail Daily field report: We've received 11 inches in the last 48 hours, and the trees and stash spots still have the full foot.
Weather: Still very cold, but with-abundant-sunshine this morning it's warmer than yesterday.
Liftline status: Mid Vail lifts not bad at 9 a.m., Eagle Bahn Gondola pretty crowded, Chair 8 not bad.
Breakdown: On what is expected to be one of the busiest days of the year, conditions are classic Vail -- plenty of sunshine and new snow. It will be a great day for skiing today, but the crowds will also be great -- in number. Get out early to best enjoy Vail Mountain.-
