Vail Daily letter: Do your research

Congratulations to the schools throughout the valley that were recognized as top ranking in the state

My daughter has been going to Stone Creek Charter School for many years now and we love the rigorous high standards of teaching that SCCS provides. The evidence of success is in the school’s constant high performance rankings statewide and CSAP scores each year.

Parents, please do not choose schools for your children based on past reputation but rather focus on today’s accomplishments. Such schools as Homestake Peak Elementary (grade C-) and Vail Ski and Snowboard Academy Middle School (grade C-) are always top choices for parents to enroll their kids into every year, but they are failing to make the grade.

Parents, do your research! Before enrolling your children into any local school, visit the schools, talk to the parents and teachers and absolutely check how the school ranks in both school performance determined by the Colorado Department of Education and the very important CSAP scores. I did my homework and Stone Creek Charter School was an easy top choice for us and we couldn’t be any happier.
