Moffet, Bruno, Chapin
It is my pleasure to write this letter to ask that you vote for Greg Moffet, Jenn Bruno and Dave Chapin for Vail Town Council. I have known all three candidates for many years and respect their commitment to the town of Vail. All three have served on town boards and are active in the running of our hometown.
I served on the Town Council with Greg and he was always my “go-to” guy to help understand a complex issue. While I didn’t always agree with him, I always respected his opinions and his analytic mind. Although I would have to say we agreed on issues much more than we disagreed. He is a strong advocate for Vail as a real community and he understands the challenges that families in Vail face.
I served on the Commission on Special Events with Dave. He was the chair at the time and I was very impressed with his ability to listen to all sides of an issue and then express his own thoughtful opinions. He was always concerned with fairness and making the right decisions.
I serve on the Bravo Board with Jenn. We cross paths at many community meetings and events from the Vail Economic Advisory Council to Red Sandstone Elementary events. Jenn is raising her family here in town, as well as running her business here. She understands the unique nature of our town and would be a great asset to the council.
All three of these candidates understand the balance between commercial interests and resident interests here in Vail. This balance has recently been made into somewhat of a hot button issue by the paid lobbyist of the Vail Homeowners Association. His false assertion is that the town cares more about the commercial interests than that of the residents. These three candidates demonstrate that the reality in Vail is that all of us full-time residents strike a healthy balance between the two on a daily basis, because the two interests are one and the same. We in Vail have a long successful history of electing representatives to our Town Council that understand the complex balancing act that is Vail. I can confidently say that a vote for these three candidates will help continue Vail’s success both as a town and as a resort.
