VAIL — Four Seasons Resort and Residences Vail, in the midst of an extensive enhancement project, is donating sofas, dining tables and chairs, artwork, stone top vanities, coffee tables, leather arm chairs and more to the Habitat ReStore Vail Valley, located on Chambers Avenue in Eagle.

“We’re in the midst of an extensive refresh and remodel of Four Seasons Resort and Residences Vail,” said Kurt Krieg, vice president of development for Extell Development Company, owner of Vail’s Four Seasons. “We realized that there would be a substantial volume of furniture and fixtures that could be donated as this year alone we are remodeling more than 30 hotel rooms on three floors, three specialty suites and six private residences. Wanting to embrace the town of Vail’s mission of sustainability, we decided to donate the furniture to Habitat for Humanity so that it can be reused and repurposed.”

Revenue generated from sales at the Habitat for Humanity ReStore in Eagle is used to build Habitat homes in partnership with Eagle County families. Since 2005, Habitat ReStore has contributed more than $1 million to support the home building efforts.

Due to the phased work at the Four Seasons, there will be a continuous flow of donations over several months. Additional items to be donated over the coming months include pieces from multiple residences, two floors of hotel rooms and restaurant and lobby furniture. This stream of donations coming into the store will encourage ReStore shoppers to return again and again to see what’s new.

“We rely heavily on the generosity of donors like Extell Development and Four Seasons,” said John Welaj, executive director of Habitat for Humanity Vail Valley. “Large scale donations to the ReStore make a significant impact to our bottom line and to our ability to create meaningful change in our community.”
