What goods or services are you offering at this time?

We are a full-service skincare and aesthetics studio that offers various types of skin treatments such as microneedling, dermaplaning, and organic custom facials as well as waxing services. Eyebrows are our specialty! We have a variety of specialty brow treatments such as brow henna, brow lamination, and microblading, a semi-permanent technique used to create full, symmetrical, perfectly-shaped eyebrows.

How have you adjusted to serve your customers during these unprecedented times?

In our line of work, cleanliness, sanitation, and disinfection are imperative! Everyone is required to wear a facemask at all times during all services. Guests are kindly asked to wash their hands upon entering the spa. We’ve added Dyson HEPA air filters to improve air quality and circulation. Additionally, we’ve added extra time in between each guest to ensure plenty of time for proper sanitation practices.

The hardest change has been our no-touch greeting policy; all we want to do right now is to give everyone a big hug! Eventually, we hope this will change, but for now, air hugs and elbow bumps will have to do.

How can the community support you?

Come in and see us; we want to get to know you and be your go-to for all things brows, skin and beauty! We want to give back to our community and say thank you to all those who’ve supported us during this crazy, difficult time. During the month of July, get 20% facial treatments. Mention this deal while booking your appointment or during your appointment to receive the discount.

What’s the best source to keep up to date with your offerings?

Check out our website at waxitskinstudio.com for current availability. Follow our Facebook page or Instagram (@waxitskinstudio) for news, deals, last-minute openings, fun spa content and local specials.

What’s the response been? What comments have you heard from the public or from your employees?

Everyone is so excited to be back in the studio, clients and staff included! We all feel giddy getting back into our self-care routines, especially after an emotionally taxing time. We’ve had nothing but positive responses from our guests and we are so thankful for that! We’ve really missed taking care of people. It feels very comforting getting back to some sort of “normal” routine again, even if it’s a little different!

What are your plans going forward as the “new normal” evolves?

Operating safely and responsibly is most important. We are following strict cleaning and disinfection practices while staying aware and informed of current regulations and prioritizing our own health. We’re fortunate to live in such a beautiful place with the mountains as our playground! The future may bring some more ups and downs, but for now, we are optimistic and hopeful that things are on the upward swing.

Revolution Power Yoga granted Lululemon Ambassador Relief Fund

When Julie Kiddoo opened Revolution Power Yoga ten years ago, it was never about the money. Enter the worldwide pandemic this spring and although connection meant more than currency, Kiddoo knew that they needed to do everything they could to sustain the beloved yoga studio and the community it created.

“Revolution Power Yoga has always been about building a community around the practice and methodology of Baptiste yoga,” Kiddoo said. “Our purpose has always been to elevate, transform and empower people so that they live in possibility, connection and purpose.”

That philosophy and dedication led to a phone call from the Lululemon Vail store. Kiddoo is an ambassador for Lululemon, and it was a scheduled call that turned out to be so much more. Revolution Power Yoga had received a grant from the Lululemon Ambassador Relief Fund.

“We couldn’t believe it. With tears of gratitude and acknowledgment, we immediately understood that our communities will now be able to survive,” Kiddoo said. “Lululemon is a company that goes way beyond the product. Their purpose is to elevate the world by unleashing the full potential within every one of us,” Kiddoo said.

The money will go to help Revolution Power Yoga’s newest studio, located in Glenwood Springs, survive the effects of the pandemic.

“It’s hard to believe Revolution Power Yoga Glenwood Springs was only open for six months before we had to close the doors. The family, friendships and connections we made in that time gave us the strength to get through, and we cannot wait to get back to building a community there,” Kiddoo said.

Revolution Power Yoga in the Traer Creek Plaza reopened June 1 and the Glenwood Springs location will reopen June 8.

“In a short time, Revolution Glenwood Springs has built such a strong foundation that is rooted in our local community. We grow stronger together and this grant will allow the studio to continue to thrive and grow through empowerment and connection,” said Grace Tennant, a yoga teacher at Revolution Power Yoga.

“We are deeply humbled and honored to have received this grant. Thank you, Lululemon and Lululemon Vail! Thank you for supporting our community. I am filled with gratitude and hope of continuing to build an incredible future for our new yoga community on and off the mat,” Kiddoo said.

Visits to the Gypsum Rec Center will be provided free of charge until June 1 for everyone in our community. We’ll be open with adjusted hours to ensure that we keep to the mandated number of people and so that our staff can clean, disinfect and sanitize the facility and all its common spaces, equipment, structures and fixtures. Visitors must be at least 13 years old and kids ages 13 and 14 must be accompanied by an adult.

How have you adjusted to serve your customers during these unprecedented times?

Our current hours are Mondays through Fridays from 5 a.m. until 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Saturdays we are open from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. Our staff deep cleans and sanitizes Mondays through Fridays at 11 a.m. and 8 p.m. and Saturdays at 1 p.m. We also have round-the-clock spot cleaning and sanitizing.

We ask that the community remember to make reservations before visiting, stay in the section you choose when registering, wear a face mask and wash your hands frequently. We will be conducting a verbal COVID-19 symptoms check for every person before entering the facility, and we ask that you stay home if you are feeling any COVID-19 symptoms. If able, the community can help support Mountain Recreation by continuing their annual or monthly membership to the Gypsum Rec Center.

What’s the best source to keep up to date with your offerings?

The best source to keep up to date is by signing up for our email alerts at mountainrec.org. The community can also follow our bilingual Mountain Recreation Facebook page for the latest information.

What’s the response been?

We have had a great response from the community so far as to the level of commitment to safety and health our Gypsum Rec Center has established during this reopening. The first day we reopened, we saw about 120 people throughout the day. The next day, we had about 160 across our fitness floor and fitness classes, while maintaining mandated group sizes of 10 or less. We look forward to offering more fitness opportunities to our community as Eagle County Public Health orders allow.

What are your plans going forward as the “new normal” evolves?

Moving forward, our new normal will heavily rely on our community’s support around social distancing protocols. As we move through Eagle County Public Health’s Transition Trail Map, we will be able to offer more services and open up amenities that shift from individual activities to controlled group activities. We are aiming to open up our summer camps and programming starting June 1, however, the new normal will require ourselves and our members to be cognizant of a 6-foot social distancing requirement, wear masks and wash their hands frequently.

Overwhelmingly, patients have been thankful for being able to be seen for physical therapy. Some of our older or at-risk populations have chosen and been advised not to come in. Although it takes more effort to do everything with wearing masks, the extra washing, etc., employees have largely been happy to return to their jobs.
