Melee in the Mountains roller derby tournament returns April 27

The 10th Mountain Roller Dolls and the town of Eagle present the annual Melee in the Mountains at the Eagle Pool & Ice Rink on Saturday, April 27.

This all-day roller derby tournament is host to three visiting teams, tournament nightlife as well as lodging and dining specials within the town’s center. This high-energy event unites the sport of roller derby and community with fun for all ages.

The tournament “black and blue” mix-up welcomes derby skaters from neighboring leagues. A mix of skaters from various Colorado teams and beyond bout-it-out.

Single Elimination Roller Derby Bouts

Eagle Pool & Ice Rink, noon to 5 p.m.

Tournament host, the 10th Mountain Roller Dolls Mountaineers, welcome The Kracken from Southern California, the Chicago Outfit and the Boulder County All-Stars.

Noon: The Chicago Outfit vs. the Boulder County All-Stars

2 p.m.: 10th Mountain Roller Dolls vs. SoCal Roller Derby

4 p.m.: Runner-up Bout

6 p.m.: Championship Bout

Halftime: Chuck-a Duck

Win a cash prize and bid on the silent auction.

The event halftime invites all spectators to join in for a chuck-a-duck competition, photo booth option and other fan fun. Purchase a duck for $5 or three for $10 and test your chuck-it strategy to land your “quacker” on the track target. Halftime occurs before Saturday’s Championship Bout. Winner splits the cash purse with tournament host 10th Mountain Roller Dolls.

10th Mountain Roller Dolls will host a silent auction. Look for “Ask Me” event skaters to fill you in during competition.

Lodging Partner, After-Party

The Eagle Lodge and Suites extends discount hotel rooms for tournament participants and fans. The tournament after-party starts at 8 p.m. at Bonfire Brewing in Eagle.
