Best Bike Trail – Best of Vail Valley 2019
1. The Boneyard
2. Haymaker Loop
It’s a little bit up, a little bit down. There are a few rocky spots, patches of shade, clusters of sage and a few miles of sweet, sweet singletrack. It’s the Boneyard trail in East Eagle. The trail starts in the Bluffs neighborhood with a short, steep uphill before dipping into singletrack and the real rollicking climb begins. This is the trail that beginner mountain bikers test their skills on, intermediate riders hit after work and expert bikers use as a training ride — and that many kids take to each summer as they learn to love the knobby-wheeled sport. It’s closed a few months in the winter but is often the first trail thawed and ready to ride come spring.

Are we seeing more bears because there are more bears on the valley floor, or because we’re all spending more time at home? It could be a bit of both.
