Best Local Summer Festival — Best of Vail Valley 2019
1. Bonfire Block Party
2. GoPro Mountain Games
3. Bravo! Vail
The Bonfire Block Party “started as a small street party to celebrate summer and unite friends through beer and music, and with our community members near and far sharing that vision, we have turned that small party into a really cool mountain-town festival,” said Bonfire Brewing’s Amanda Jessen.
Seven years later, it has become a burgeoning music festival with the likes of Trombone Shorty, North Mississippi Allstars and Lil Smokies, to name a few. In 2019, there were 11 bands on three outdoor stages plus two late-night bands. Hello rock ‘n’ roll (and blues, country, rockabilly, bluegrass). Friends come out of hibernation to listen to one of the dozen bands on one of three stages during this three-day festival. Friends come out of hibernation and the town of Eagle comes to life as concert-goers flock to Broadway, which is shut down for the event. Revelers can enjoy a craft beer from Bonfire Brewing, nosh on fare from one of the many food trucks as they drift from stage to stage, finding their favorite tune. “We’re beyond thrilled that the Bonfire Block Party has been chosen as the valley’s best festival for the third year in a row,” Jessen said.
