There’s quite a large group of canine regulars at Bonfire Brewing. Some of them have even been memorialized on the tap room’s famed chalkboard menu.

“We love having the dogs in here. Sometimes it is more dogs than people,” said Amanda Jessen, one of the business owners. “There are times I know the people because of their dogs. I may not know their names, but I know the dog’s name.”

Bonfire doesn’t serve food and that’s the reason why four-legged customers are welcome at the tap room. “We do tell people they have to be good dogs,” Jessen said.

The canine presence at the business is a reflection of Eagle’s outdoor recreation atmosphere. Jessen noted hiking, biking and swimming are all activities that humans like to share with their dogs and after a strenuous afternoon, nothing is better than enjoying a cold pint with man’s best friend.

Bonfire is also a convenient destination, she noted.

“I have had some people come in and say ‘My in-laws are in town. This is me walking the dog.’ They are able to have a beer and then go home much happier,” Jessen said.
