Best Salad — Best of Vail Valley 2019
1. The Rose
3. Drunken Goat
The Rose in Edwards boasts a few salads on its menu such as the Basic Wedge Salad and a beet salad. The Basic Wedge Salad is anything but basic. It comes with homemade vegan ranch dressing with baby iceberg lettuce and The Rose trail mix, which adds some crunch.
The beet salad is served with dried beets on top as well as the fresh ones throughout the salad, making for an interesting texture.
The most popular salad by far is The Rose salad. “The cornbread croutons are my favorite part of this salad,” said Jessie Kutschke, a server at The Rose. “I save them for last because they are almost like a dessert at the end because they are so sweet.”
In addition to the cornbread croutons, the mixed greens, corn, tomato, dates, avocado, goat cheese, almonds and homemade vinaigrette give the salad plenty of texture and flavor.
Ask for this popular staple by name and feel free to add a protein like ahi tuna, chicken or crispy pork to the dish.
