VAIL — Dr. Jandel Allen-Davis believes that health is so much more than the absence of an illness. Rather, she instead believes health is thriving in the places we live, learn, work and play.
As a health maven and speaker, Allen-Davis’ talk at TEDxMileHigh on the shortcomings of a broken health care system has been viewed thousands of times. Her talks on dense and complicated subjects such as health care, or personal subjects such as wellness, are charismatic, creative and impactful.
Now, Allen-Davis will visit Vail to share her thoughts on the misleading ideas of what we all believe to define a healthy life. She will go beyond stereotypical ideals to expose the undiscovered elements of how to truly thrive in the modern landscape of life. She will speak on Monday at 6:30 p.m. at The Grand View room in Lionshead Village.
Allen-Davis is currently the vice president of government, external relations and research for Kaiser Permanente Colorado, although her discussion is not a plug for the company. She also served on the Colorado State Board of Medical Examiners from 2003 to 2011 and served as president of the board from 2009 to 2011.
“Dr. Allen-Davis is a very dynamic speaker,” said Dale Mosier, chairman of the Board of Directors for the Vail Symposium. “She offers a delightful perspective that is refreshing in its authenticity.”
