VAIL — Labor Day weekend ushers in the start of the fall season, and Vail will celebrate with the annual Gourmet on Gore. The open-air culinary event returns to Vail Village for the 11th year, taking place Sept. 2 to 5.

Gourmet on Gore takes place along Vail’s Gore Creek Drive and International Bridge, showcasing Vail Valley restaurants and libations from around the world with wine, beer, spirits and culinary bites. There is no cost for admission to the Gourmet on Gore open-air tasting, and the event is open to the public.

One of the highlights of the annual event is the collectable poster, which showcases the spirit of the event. This year, world-renowned artist Anton Arkhipov created the featured art that reflects the atmosphere of Gourmet on Gore.

“He has done an amazing job of capturing the uniqueness of this signature Vail event through the iconic scenery of Vail,” said James Deighan, event producer for Highline. “We are thrilled that Anton will be in town during Labor Day weekend and his limited editions will be available at Masters Gallery on Meadow Drive, Vail Village.”

This year’s event will kick off with the Tasting Tour on Friday, Sept. 2, benefiting the Vail Veterans Program. The open-air tastings take place on Saturday and Sunday with complimentary admission and pay-as-you-go bites and pours; Monday’s Brunch Off Bridge Street, which follows the same pay-as-you-go format, will close out the event.

Additional elements throughout the weekend include community yoga, culinary demonstrations, special activities for children, an open house tour, tasting events and more. Final details and the full schedule of events are posted on the Gourmet on Gore website, http://www.gourmetongore.com.
