EDWARDS — During childhood, extremely stressful experiences can alter brain development and have lifelong effects on health and behavior, including everything from heart disease to substance abuse and depression.
“Resilience: The Biology of Stress & the Science of Hope” is a one-hour documentary that chronicles the impact of childhood trauma while providing strategies for strengthening local efforts to help children who live with daily trauma.
A film for everyone
The Eagle County Department of Human Services will host a free screening of “Resilience” today at Colorado Mountain College in Edwards. The film starts at 6 p.m., and refreshments will be served at 5:30 p.m.
There will be time for discussion following the film.
All interested community members are encouraged to attend.
