VAIL — Free, one-hour weekly Wednesday Art Walks and tour of Vail Village begin Wednesday.

Guided by the town’s Art in Public Places coordinator at 11 a.m. each Wednesday through Aug. 30, the tour meets at the Vail Village Welcome Center.

The tour winds through the village with discussions of the history of the Vail Valley, the founding of Vail Mountain, the master planning of the village and the importance of site-specific art.

Vail’s public art collection includes more than 45 works ranging from paintings, sculptures, murals, playgrounds and site-integrated art.

A printed map of the collection is available at the Vail and Lionshead Village welcome centers. There is also a virtual tour at http://www.artinvail.com.

Participate in The Longevity Project

The Longevity Project is an annual campaign to help educate readers about what it takes to live a long, fulfilling life in our valley. This year Kevin shares his story of hope and celebration of life with his presentation Cracked, Not Broken as we explore the critical and relevant topic of mental health.
