On Wednesday, Feb. 8, Vail Valley Business Women gathered together at Vista at Arrowhead to network and develop their business relationships and friendships. The theme of the evening was Navigating Your Friendships.
Friendships can be hard to cultivate and take effort to maintain, but they are an extraordinary gift to experience in a lifetime. On this evening, the women attending the event were warm and welcoming to new members and familiar faces alike.
“(Vail Valley Business Women) is a varied series of discussions and talks that is an excellent way to connect with other professional women in the valley,” executive member Leslie Grooters said.
Good friends make us happier, healthier and make us live longer. They provide emotional support when things go wrong and practical help when we need it most.
Local clinical psychologist Dr. Jill Squyres discussed ways to be a great friend who attracts and keeps wonderful people in your life during her talk on Navigating Your Friendships. Squyres gave a similar talk during the 2015 TEDxVail event. The presentation shared an overview of contemporary friendship, tips and ideas for making and keeping friends.
The evening included networking, a sit-down dinner and keynote speaker. In the future, consider sharing the event with friends, clients, colleagues and contacts who may find value in attending these events and/or becoming a member. Vail Valley Business Women meet on the second Wednesday of every month.
The high country can be a challenging place to make the kind of new and lasting contacts so important for any business, and the Vail Valley Business Women are happy to help. Join them for their March speed-networking event to meet new colleagues and get business ideas and feedback while enjoying a delectable assortment of Indian and Nepali food. The evening will include a buffet dinner followed by several lightning rounds of one-on-one speed networking.
