Jason Isbell joined Sheryl Crow on ‘The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon’ and it was great
The Southern rock star comes to Vail this month
Jason Isbell, who is playing at the Gerald R. Ford Amphitheater on Sept. 18, joined Sheryl Crow on “The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon” on Monday. The two were joined by a backing band and played “Everything Is Broken,” from Crow’s new album, “Threads.”
“Threads,” which Crow has publicly proclaimed her final album, notably features heavy-weight collaborators. Isbell contributed to “Everything Is Broken,” and others with album credits include Stevie Nicks, Neil Young, Johnny Cash, Eric Clapton, Keith Richards, Willie Nelson and St. Vincent.
Isbell is most known for recording and touring with Southern rock band Drive-By Truckers, but left in 2007 to pursue a solo career. He and his band, the 400 Unit, have worked on several studio and live albums.
Jason Isbell & the 400 Unit round out the Whistle Pig Vail concert series on Sept. 18 at the Gerald R. Ford Amphitheater. The show starts at 7 p.m. with opener Amanda Shires. Tickets are on sale at grfavail.com or at 970-845-8497.
