Aspiring writers and avid readers will have chance to talk to award-winning authors, discuss the literary world and add signed books to their collection.
Meet the Authors
Bring your brown bag lunch for a conversation with one of the Northwest’s favorite novelists, a five-time Pacific Northwest Bookseller Award winner and a 2017 Books in Bloom author, Pete Fromm. Don’t miss the chance to hear Fromm talk about the wilderness, writing and life. This event is free and light refreshments will be provided at the Eagle Public Library on Friday starting at noon.
Then join the Eagle Valley Library District again on Friday from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Avon Public Library for a casual meet and greet with Fromm and the other 2017 Books in Bloom authors, Joshilyn Jackson and Joyce Maynard. This event is free and open to the public. Light refreshments and book signings will be available.
Finally, the Eagle Valley Library District will host the sixth annual Books in Bloom main event on Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Pines Lodge in Beaver Creek. Doors will open at 1 p.m. Nationally known and award-winning authors will present for 40 minutes about their inspiration, creative writing process and experiences as a writer. This unique event provides an intimate environment for readers and budding writers to connect with authors and each other about the appreciation for the written word.
Books in Bloom will kick off with an abundance of hors-d’oeuvres and refreshments provided by Grouse Mountain Grill. After the conclusion of the presentations, the authors will be available for book signing. Book sales will be featured on-site throughout the entire event courtesy of The Bookworm in Edwards. Tickets are $50 and can be purchased online at evld.org; at the Avon, Eagle and Gypsum public libraries; at The Bookworm in Edwards or at the event.
