The main rule for picking movies at the Blue Starlite Mini Urban Drive-In is that the film has to be something that was made during the days of drive-ins -- 1940s to 1980s -- however, anything meant to be seen in a drive-in setting are also selected.

Drive-in season returns to Minturn in July, with Blue Starlite Mini Urban Drive-In bringing its outdoor movie experience once again to Little Beach Park.

Films coming this summer to the 32-foot high-definition digital projection screen at the drive-in include “Star Wars: A New Hope,” “Goonies,” “The Big Lebowski,” “Jurassic Park” and more classics.

In addition to the scheduled movies, off nights are available for private drive-in movies with party rentals in July and August. Packages for evenings where you pick the flick start at $300.

Gates open for early shows at 7:30 p.m. and at 10:30 p.m. for the late shows. Tickets for cars are $15 plus $8 per person in the car.

Promoted as a mini-boutique drive-in, there are currently 50 car slots available per showing. The main rule for picking movies is that the film has to be something that was made during the days of drive-ins — 1940s to 1980s — however, new movies and anything meant to be seen in a drive-in setting can also be selected.

For those not in cars, the drive-in has space for those walking or biking in. Seating is not provided for people on foot, and moviegoers are encouraged to bring an FM radio and chairs. Tickets are $8 if you walk up or bike in.

Dogs are allowed in but must be leashed and polite.

It’s recommended to purchase tickets in advance due to limited space and are available now online.

While outside food and drinks are OK, on-site concessions are available and include s’mores and other tasty treats.
