MONDAY, July 3
See Bruce Hornsby & The Noisemakers
Bruce Hornsby has built one of the most diverse, collaborative and adventurous careers in contemporary music. He performs at the Vilar Performing Arts Center at 6:30 p.m. (Note: The show is early to leave time for people to get to the Salute to the USA fireworks show in Avon later that night.) Salute to the USA
Avon’s 31st annual Independence Day celebration starts at 5 p.m. and includes activities for the whole family. The fireworks show, one of the best in the state, go from about 9:45 p.m. to 10:30.
TUESDAY, July 4
Check out the Vail America Day Parade
Celebrate the Fourth of July with the world-famous Vail America Days Parade from Golden Peak to Lionshead. The parade goes from 10 a.m. to noon. Fireworks go off over Golden Peak at dusk.
Independence Day at Beaver Creek
The village at Beaver Creek brings fun for the family as well as live music from 2 to 9:30 p.m. followed by fireworks. Festivities start at noon at the Beav’.
WEDNESDAY, July 5
Keeping the grass blue
The free Vail Summer Bluegrass series continues on Wednesdays from 6 to 9 p.m. in the tent at Vail Square in Lionshead. Visit http://www.vailbluegrass.com.
Keeping the reggae real
The Wailers helped put Bob Marley and reggae music on the map. Members of the original group mixed with new members, many family members, will perform at the Vilar Performing Arts Center at 8 p.m. Tickets are $48. Visit http://www.vvf.org.
THURSDAY, July 6
Marcia Ball brings two-fisted piano pounding to Vail
Pianist, vocalist and songwriter Marcia Ball brings her swampy R&B, jumping blues and heart-wrenching ballads to Vail Jazz at Vail Square at 6 p.m. Tickets start at $25. Visit http://www.vailjazz.org.
Get your cowboy hat ready
The Beaver Creek Rodeo series takes place at 5 p.m. at the rodeo grounds behind Chapel Square in Avon. Don your cowboy boots and witness bronco and bull ridin’, mutton bustin’, barbecue and more. Kids 12 and younger are admitted for free.
FRIDAY, July 7
Welcome, Philadelphia Orchestra
The Fabulous Philadelphians return to Bravo! Vail with the melodies of Tchaikovsky’s brilliant Violin Concerto. The concert begins at 6 p.m. at the Gerald R. Ford Amphitheater. Tickets start at $28. Visit http://www.bravovail.org.
