Salute to the USA

Avon’s 31st annual Independence Day celebration starts at 5 p.m. and includes activities for the whole family. The fireworks show, one of the best in the state, go from about 9:45 p.m. to 10:30.

TUESDAY, July 4

Check out the Vail America Day Parade

Celebrate the Fourth of July with the world-famous Vail America Days Parade from Golden Peak to Lionshead. The parade goes from 10 a.m. to noon. Fireworks go off over Golden Peak at dusk.

Beaver Creek

Independence Day at Beaver Creek

The village at Beaver Creek brings fun for the family as well as live music from 2 to 9:30 p.m. followed by fireworks. Festivities start at noon at the Beav’.

Keeping the grass blue

The free Vail Summer Bluegrass series continues on Wednesdays from 6 to 9 p.m. in the tent at Vail Square in Lionshead. Visit http://www.vailbluegrass.com.

Beaver Creek

Keeping the reggae real

The Wailers helped put Bob Marley and reggae music on the map. Members of the original group mixed with new members, many family members, will perform at the Vilar Performing Arts Center at 8 p.m. Tickets are $48. Visit http://www.vvf.org.

Marcia Ball brings two-fisted piano pounding to Vail

Avon

Get your cowboy hat ready

The Beaver Creek Rodeo series takes place at 5 p.m. at the rodeo grounds behind Chapel Square in Avon. Don your cowboy boots and witness bronco and bull ridin’, mutton bustin’, barbecue and more. Kids 12 and younger are admitted for free.

Welcome, Philadelphia Orchestra
