AVON — Revolution Power Yoga will host Art and Yoga: A Creative Flow Workshop from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 1. Teachers Andrea Throne and Nicole Constantine will lead this three-hour workshop, which will include yoga practice, meditation, journaling and an art project.

The workshop begins with an hour of an opening and centering yoga practice that will allow yogis to explore their creative sides in a new and powerful way. All levels are welcome, from beginner yogi to master painter and everyone between.

‘Connection to my artistic self’

“I don’t consider myself an artistic person, and this workshop gave me the connection to my artistic self. I can’t wait to do it again,” said Revolution teacher Emily Selonick after the last Art and Yoga workshop.

Practice is followed by a meditation and inquiry section that will help participants develop their artwork and tap into a new set of skills and understanding of their artistic talents.

Throne and Constantine both studied art in college and are passionate about people of all levels being able and comfortable to express themselves through art. Both have also trained several years in teaching yoga and believe that in this world, one of the greatest accesses to meditation and self-discovery is with painting and creating art.

“I signed up for this class to step out of my comfort zone (painting) and was pleasantly surprised by how the experience allowed me to express myself in a whole new way,” said Chelsey Lange, a Revolution Power Yoga student, following the last session.
