The first ever Brevet Beaver Creek is currently underway in Avon.
It’s a road and adventure bike demo orchestrated in concert with SRAM’s Open The Road Program, where the world’s finest bicycles are placed at your disposal and personally fitted by former grand tour support staff.
In this unique event, you’ll start by grabbing a Brevet Card from the event headquarters at The Westin Resort & Spa. Next, join friends old and new as you explore new routes. Submit your Brevet Card at each aid station on your route to verify your progress, then redeem it back at The Westin for exclusive rewards and merchandise.
As you unlock various individual and cumulative achievements throughout the weekend you’ll be gifted event memorabilia celebrating each accomplishment. Participants can choose from 10 different routes of variable terrain, distance and difficulty. Placed throughout the county, the rides feature road, a bit of gravel in some, and a few others incorporating a bit of both.
A world of recognition awaits with items sourced from the bike industry’s finest suppliers including Castelli, Swiftwick, SRAM and many, many more.
The Brevet Beaver Creek is also a sublime culinary experience. It’s an opportunity to immerse yourself in products, data and information, each thoughtfully presented to provide even greater immersion and enjoyment of your cycling passion.
The Brevet Beaver Creek starts this morning with breakfast with industry icons, professional riders and your own personal peloton. It wraps up Sunday at 4 p.m. when the demo and merch tents close.
The full ride data collection and power meter training comes courtesy of Quarq. Sign out a Qollector unit and effortlessly track all data. See where you rode, how many watts you pushed and easily identify areas for improvement.
Bike fit and nutrition clinics will be available with leading coaches and exercise physiologists. Ryan Canizzarro with Alchemy Bicycles will host a Meet the Maker Series today at 3 p.m. at the Westin, with an immersive question and answer session from the renowned custom frame maker.
Fully supported demo rides with aid stations, sag vehicles and medical support will be available.
There will be cocktails and dinner each day, with nightly entertainment and socializing with the valley’s best cuisine.
Most of all, the Brevet Beaver Creek is a non-competitive adventure ride bound to reside among your fondest and most memorable life experiences, and an opportunity to prove your mettle.
