Schedule announced for Vail Bluegrass summer concert series

VAIL — Vail Bluegrass returns to the Arrabelle at Vail Square for its fourth summer beginning Wednesday, June 28, and continues on Wednesdays, July 5, 12 and 19. All shows will start at 6 p.m. and are free to attend. Additional information is to come.

Featuring members of the Infamous Stringdusters, Leftover Salmon, the Grant Farm, and super-group the Bluegrass Generals will kick things off on June 28. Raleigh, North Carolina-based Chatham County Line brings its traditional bluegrass sounds to Vail on July 5, followed by one of the most dynamic bands within this genre, Donna the Buffalo, on July 12.

Closing out the summer on July 19 is 2016 International Bluegrass Music Association and 2015 Telluride Bluegrass award-winners The Lil Smokies. Mile High Express, Vail’s own Hardscrabble, Sweetwater String Band and the Jay Roemer Band featuring Dave Carroll of Trampled by Turtles will handle opening duties, respectively.

Additionally, the Vail Summer Bluegrass Series will once again return to the Betty Ford Alpine Gardens to present Bluegrass in the Gardens. Bluegrass in the Gardens will take place at 1 p.m. on show-day Wednesdays and will feature the Vail Bluegrass artists in an intimate setting.
