Whistle Pig Vail adds another Grammy-winning performer to summer lineup
Jason Isbell & The 400 Unit coming to Vail in September
With the addition of Jason Isbell & The 400 Unit, Year 2 of Whistle Pig Vail is bringing more performances than its inaugural year.
Jason Isbell & The 400 Unit performs Wednesday, Sept. 18, at the Gerald R. Ford Amphitheater in Vail at 7 p.m. Tickets start at $49.75 and are available online at http://www.grfa.com.
Isbell and the band’s new album, “The Nashville Sound,” is full of powerful songs similar to Isbell’s 2013 breakthrough “Southeastern” and his double-Grammy-winning follow up, 2015’s “Something More Than Free.”
Isbell is scheduled to close out the Whistle Pig Vail lineup, which starts with Steve Martin and Martin Short on July 14. Other performances include the Trey Anastacio Band (Aug. 12-13); Steve Miller Band & Marty Stuart and his Fabulous Superlatives (Aug. 14); Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats (Aug. 19); and Gary Clark Jr. (Sept. 5).
