The 13th annual Beaver Creek Wine and Spirits Festival is here this weekend. This event incorporates Beaver Creek’s own culinary talent, exclusive wines and outdoor venues. Each themed event is paired with the perfect location: The Grand Tasting Event tonight is the highlight of the weekend.

Then, just a couple of weeks later, Beaver Creek hosts its Oktoberfest from Aug. 30 to Sept. 1, highlighting ties to its sister city of Lech-Zürs in Austria. Here’s a look at the schedule of the Beaver Creek Wine and Spirits today and Sunday:


Hike & Lunch: A Guided Gourmet Adventure 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

A journey through the senses through the summer mountain trails to the tables filled with locally sourced foods. Guests will enjoy a beautiful a gondola ride to the top of Beaver Creek and hike with the friendly and knowledgeable guides of the Beaver Creek Hiking Center. Guests will ultimately wind their way to lush Spruce Saddle for a wine-paired lunch featuring Monkshood Cellars.

Location: Summer Adventure Center (located next to Starbucks in Beaver Creek Village) / Spruce Saddle Price: $100 per person

Shaping Your Senses: Wine Glassware and Tasting Seminar noon to 1:30 p.m.

Featuring Riedel ambassador Shelley Sale: Find out why the shape of glassware matters in fully experiencing different varietals of wine. Attendees will learn about various glassware shapes and how they change the experience of enjoying wine focusing on the taste, balance and finish provided by each glass. After the seminar concludes, participants will take home a Riedel glass kit.

Women in Wine | 1-3 p.m.

Come to the heart of the Beaver Creek Village to enjoy food and beverages on Saturday afternoon while celebrating women in the wine industry.

Location: the Plaza Pavilion

Price: Admission to the village is complimentary, and tickets for food and beverage are available at the event.

Pinot Noir Uncorked seminar 2:30-4 p.m.

Explore the origins of the most romanticized red wine in the world. Guests will be treated to various tastings of Pinot Noir wines coming from both California and Oregon, and leave with an understanding of the impact of climate, tradition, and wine making on the world’s most challenging grape. Sample pinot noir in its many forms and tasting profiles to find a favorite variation from the West Coast.

13th Annual Grand Tasting 5-8 p.m.

The Wine and Spirits Grand Tasting is the culinary highlight of the entire festival. With a new location for 2019, guests can celebrate the height of summer harvests with fresh food tastings, premium wines and cocktails outdoors at the base of Beaver Creek Mountain.

Location: Outdoor tented venue at the Base of Beaver Creek Mountain/Haymeadow Express (next to the Park Hyatt at the base of Chair 1).

Price: $100 per person


Wine & Cheese Adventure 4×4 Tour 1-4 p.m.

Get out on the mountain for this adventurous port and cheese pairing experience — served with a side of breathtaking scenery. Enjoy an exclusive guided four-wheel-drive tour that will stop at two scenic vantage points to sample wines paired with cheeses from Cured Boulder, allowing time to enjoy the pleasures of the palate and a feast for the eyes!
