2 Do: Our picks for top activities in the Vail Valley today

Special to the Daily |
1. Take the first-ever Lionshead public art tour — The Town of Vail’s Art in Public Places will be offering the first-ever free tour of Lionshead and its public art today. The morning begins with coffee and treats at the opening reception for the Community Collective Exhibition and continues with viewing the library’s public art. The tour then proceeds to the outdoors with a leisurely walk to the new Lionshead Welcome Center, then to multiple outdoor sculptures and Vail’s newest playground, Sunbird Park. After the tour, enjoy even more art at the Rembrandt Art for Hearts exhibition in the Grand View located on the top level of the Lionshead Welcome Center. Meet at the Vail Public Library at 10 a.m. for the two hour walking tour.
2. See Gipsy Moon in Minturn — The Minturn Summer Concert Series continues tonight at Little Beach Park with Gipsy Moon. Gipsy Moon is a five-piece group of wandering artists whose sound, often referred to as Gypsygrass, is something like a backwoods hoedown meets the smoking basement of a New York jazz club. The show is scheduled for 6 p.m., for more information on the Minturn Summer Concert Series visit facebook.com/littlebeachpark.
