2 injured in latest house fire in Denver area
LAKEWOOD, Colo. — Another fire in the Denver area has sent two people to the hospital.
They were injured early Wednesday after a fire in an incinerator used to burn leaves and other materials at their home in Lakewood rekindled during the night and spread through the house. West Metro Fire Rescue spokeswoman Michelle French says one person escaped and asked a neighbor to call 911 while the other had to be rescued by firefighters.
Two people died in separate fires on Tuesday. An elderly woman was found dead after a natural gas explosion sparked a fire in her home in Aurora. In Boulder, a 2-year-old boy died in a fire in a mobile home in Boulder. Two others — identified by neighbors as the boy’s brother and mother — were hospitalized.
