2010 special events can seek funding from Vail

VAIL, Colorado – Organizers of special events seeking funding from Vail for 2010 can apply to the town’s Commission on Special Events.
The commission receives its funds from the Vail Town Council, and is charged with finding events that stimulate the local economy and help establish Vail as a year-round tourist destination.
Funding amounts will be determined based on an event’s potential to inrease business in local shops and restaurants, bring people to local hotels and draw publicity to Vail. Teh commission also looks for events that can spark business in the off-seasons.

Applicants will have the opportunity to present their proposals to the comission on Oct. 7.
