239 pot plants seized, sheriff says

GYPSUM –Two men were arrested and 239 marijuana plants were found when investigators, acting on a tip, searched a home at 90 Beacon Court in Gypsum around 7:30 a.m. today, the Eagle County’s Sheriff’s Office says.

Psilocybin mushrooms and several pounds of hashish were also found and altogether, the drugs seized have an estimated street value of $30,000, the Eagle County’s Sheriff’s Office says.

Alvaro Medina, 22, and Adam Coleman, 25, both of whom are residents of the home, are now in custody at the Eagle County Detention Center. Medina has a bond set for $50,000 and Coleman has a bond set for $7,500. Jacob Macias, 23, also of 90 Beacon Court, was summonsed and released on misdemeanor charges.

The home has been condemned by the town of Gypsum due to fire hazard and multiple other building code violations.
