47 musicians to perform at free Gypsum ‘Opry’

GYPSUM – Forty-seven performers for the first-ever Gypsum Grand Old Opry are lined up to entertain Sept. 10 at the Lundgren Amphitheater on Valley Road in Gypsum.
In order to accommodate the entertainers, the event will begin at 4 p.m. and end at 7:30 p.m. The event, to feature nine bands in concert, will be hosted in the spirit of the original Grand Ol’ Opry with special guests Auntie Em And The Twisters and “pitch man” Chuck House of Gypsum. The event is free to the public.Bluegrass headliners The Curry Family, the Bluegrace Mountain Band and Three Left Feet will be joined by young country artists Too Young To Know with Troy Harris on guitar and singer Emily Kingston. Pop/rock favorites The New Shoes Trio and the acoustic folk music of Joel and Friends will also be in the lineup. Mountain Harmony and the High Country Four will lend their barbershop harmonies, while the Latin beat of the John Pomales Experience will also take center stage in the three and a half hour presentation.
Food concessions will be provided by the First Lutheran Youth (F.L.Y.), to benefit their mission trip ministry. The Ice Cream Lady will be on hand for dessert, with arts, crafts, jewelry and a variety of other unique offerings available to the public.
