DENVER, Colorado “-The ratings for 9News at 10 remain tops in Denver, Colorado, but one of its top anchors will soon be gone.

Bob Kendrick, half of Denver’s highest rated news team, will leave the station at the end of November when his contract ends.

But that’s about all anyone knows publicly about the departure of the man who has co-anchored the news with Adele Arakawa since Ocotber of 2003.

“We’re not able to renew his contract, and the details are private,” said news director Patti Dennis late Monday. “We wish him great success.”

Dennis added that 9News hasn’t decided how they will replace the newsman who came to the Denver station from Tampa.

The news is a far cry from March of 2003, when Roger Ogden, then 9News president and general manager, said about the hiring:

“We set the bar high. Three anchors ” Carl Akers, Bob Palmer and Ed Sardella ” have set the standard in Denver TV news. We believe Kendrick is of this high caliber.”

Kendrick couldn’t be reached for comment.
