A.C. Money gets Kool in the mountains

Wren Wertin
Special to the DailyA.C. Money is juicing up Vail's hip hop scene.

DJ Kool, hip hop/go go fusion pioneer headlines the party. He broke gold with his single, “Let Me Clear My Throat,” in 1996. Kool taped it live at Bahama Bay in Philadelphia in front of thousands of people. It was finished in one take, and the show went on.

He is now coming to Vail at A.C. Money’s request to perform at the celebrity party. Other special guests will be Kingdom, Family Oriented, Q-Berst and Mark Carmel, all from Colorado. Local rhymester Sugar will be hosting the event.

Other entertainment will be a resurrected version of “Name that Tune,” which will include a wide hip hop selection. There will also be a dance contest, judged by members of the audience.

They’ll be at B-Side Records to sign autographs at 5 p.m. and the party at Sanctuary begins at 9 p.m. Tickets are available at B-Side, Mountain Dogs, Sticky Green and at the door.
