A culinary event for a cause in Beaver Creek
August 3, 2010
BEAVER CREEK – On Aug. 19 Master Chef Wolfgang Puck will host a dinner at Spago to benefit First Descents, an area-born organization dedicated to providing young adults diagnosed with cancer a healing week of outdoor adventure.
Chef Puck’s five-course menu will include his signature dishes and will be paired with varietals from Napa winery Lewis Cellars. The event will begin with a cocktail reception hosted by Wolfgang Puck at 6 p.m., followed by the five-course presentation and pairing at 7 p.m.
“We’re thrilled Wolfgang will be in town to host this compassionate event with us,” said Spago Executive Chef Mark Ferguson. “We can’t wait to provide the valley with an exceptional culinary experience to benefit a great cause close to the hotel’s, and our, heart.”
“First Descents was founded, and continues to develop its important programming, right here in Vail Valley,” said the organization’s founder Brad Ludden. “Vail has become a healing place for so many young adults with cancer. Joining forces with community partner Spago and Chef Wolfgang Puck is an honor, and the perfect way to celebrate and expand the valley’s therapeutic potential.”
A limited number of tickets will be available for $225 per person, inclusive of tax, gratuity and valet parking. In addition, dinner guests will be extended a room rate of $159 Thursday night, $20 of which will benefit First Descents.
