A major disconnect?
In the next few weeks, I’d like to pose a series of questions, that I hope will be answered. Here’s the first one. Some Americans think drilling for petroleum domestically will make a dent in our reliance on foreign oil sources, even as their fellow citizens are signing on to the new “energy economy.” I want to know why this disconnect? When the facts say it’ll take 10 years to get that oil into our gas tanks, why is it so important to go on doing business as usual for those fellow citizens who believe “drill, baby drill” is a realistic mantra in a world about to go topsy turvy?
