A month of ‘Pride and Prejudice’ events at the Vail Public Library

In celebration of the bicentennial of Jane Austen’s “Pride and Prejudice,” published Jan. 28, 1813, the town of Vail Public Library will host a series of “Pride and Prejudice” inspired events. Join the Vail Public Library on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. for a vibrant lecture and discussion on “Pride and Prejudice,” the author and the book. Jennifer Wing, Ph.D., of Colorado Mountain College will give this educational talk on Jane Austen’s acclaimed novel.

She has a doctorate degree in 19th-century American literature with a minor in critical theory. Wing teaches composition, literature, and public speaking courses at the Edwards campus of Colorado Mountain College. She is also the college-wide English discipline coordinator for CMC.

Movie screening

The following Wednesday, Nov. 13 at 5 p.m., the library will host a “Pride and Prejudice” book discussion. Copies of the book are available for check out at the library. Wrapping up the month-long celebration will be a special movie screening of “Pride and Prejudice” on Nov. 20 at 5:30 p.m.
